Further wash ... too dark. Both washes were "watered down paints" I think the second, purple, was way too dark (I also did more than one layer not realizing how dark they would be).

I think I am going to may try a second test model using ready made washes to see how that goes.

Still need to "clean up" with the original base coat and then add additional layers of highlights.

I think the first wash looked pretty good but I could see streaks or brush strokes on the model. It looks nice and cold, though. If you can pick up some Asurmen Blue and Leviathan Purple I think you'll be pleased. The GW washes are quite a time saver and very easy to apply.

Another highlight.

Probably covered too much area on the back and arms.

I think the skin is coming along nicely.

Looks suitably frosty. I'd give the nipples a wash with blue and continue with the rest of the model. Contrasts look good as they are, especially on the face.

I'll work on the nipples. Maybe purple nurple.

These ogres hate the undead and have feasted on their flesh ... perhaps for too long?

It's not bad, though I prefer how the skin came out on the first model. Also, these are some of your first pictures that don't feature a pencil in the background... what happened? :-P

Greg, I imagine they don't feature the pencil anymore because of his new spiffy paint tray. Anyway, I prefer the model on the left as well. If you wanted to try more of the blending, I'd start just as dark as the other model and work your way up over a much larger area. They both look quite good!

I'll try to include a pencil for Greg's peace of mind .... sort of like a "Where's Waldo?" sort of thing ...

Is that just TheCrankyLawyer being cranky? I miss the Topher-smashing confidence; you's definitely can paint! :-)

This forum needs smilies, or emoticons and what have you. Imagine a thumbs-up smiley here. Several in fact. :)
