Gear for my Gorebull

posted Jan 19, 2013 16:12:44 by Greg2thePerson
Hey all,

As the title implies, I would like some creative input in how I outfit my Gorebull. Historically, I have fielded:
Gorebull - battle standard, heavy armor, shield, sword of might, talisman of endurance

This setup has struck a fairly nice balance between fighting prowess and survivability. However, I feel that there must be some equally and/or more useful combinations of 50 points out there. Fire away with the suggestions!

Well, I haven't garnered any responses on here, but my new kit is:

Gorebull - battle standard, heavy armour, Sword of Anti-Heroes, Charmed Shield, The Other Trickster's Shard

Definitely a build that favors offense over defense. I figure this guy will provide me with a serious threat to anyone running a knight bus and/or tooled up characters.

What is the Gorebull's I,WS,S, and T?

I'll admit I have never played the beastmen, so i'm not sure what role you want this guy to play. For the Orcs and Goblins i'm a big fan of the BsB with Dragon Helm, Shield, and Crown of Command, Especially if its a black orc. I try not to get him into any fights really though.

Can you take that gift that gives you scaly skin with the Bsb? If so have you thought about that, heavy armor, and dragon helm? Pretty pimp save cheap, then kit him out for offense?

Great question, his stats look like this:
WS5 S5 T5 I4 A4(5 with Frenzy) 4W

Unfortunately you can only take the Gnarled Hide (5+ Scaly Skin) once in your army. That is already being used by my Doombull! I like the Crown of Command, but with only 50 points to spend I don't think I can make him survivable enough to warrant it's use. The best I could get is a 3+ Armour Save.

What about Charmed Shield, potion of foolhardiness, and sword of strife? If you want him to be a combat machine that gives him 7 Attacks, 8 on one turn you charge, and then his stomp, plus you still have the charmed shield so he is as survivable as your other build.

You may also want to consider kitting the gorebull out for character killing, as tough character may prove difficult for your minos to kill. Potion of strength, sword of swift slaying, and charmed shield seems like a decent combo for this, bump your strength up to 8 for a turn, hit first and just smash through the opposition.

Like I said I don't have any experience with beastmen with the current book, but maybe those combos were at least intriguing.
